Fiero

Now in its eighth season, Fiero is a touring choir of boys ages 10 to 14. The choir also performs with OFC’s Lyrica as a co-ed treble choir. This year's highlights include joining with Lyrica to perform Carmina Burana and the Nutcracker with the Eugene Ballet; a spring tour to Philadelphia; and concerts on December 10 and May 20.

Fiero has twice served as host choir for the Pacific International Children’s Choir Festival. In 2003 and 2004 the boychoir received gold medals at the Oregon ACDA Ensemble Festival and combined with Lyrica to receive a third gold medal in 2005.

The Boychoir goes on tour each season. Past tours have taken the boys to British Columbia, California and Idaho. In July 2004, members of Fiero and Lyrica took their first overseas tour to England. They sang an Evensong service and, as part of the International Children's Choir Festival Chorus, gave a major performance at Canterbury Cathedral followed up by a concert with members of the London Symphony in London's Westminster Hall.

Fiero regularly collaborates with local professional performing arts organizations including the Oregon Bach Festival, Eugene Concert Choir, Oregon Mozart Players, Eugene Ballet and Opera companies, Dance Theatre of Oregon , and OFAM. The boychoir has also worked with some of the world’s finest children’s choir conductors, including Henry Leck, Sandra Snow, Doreen Rao, Bob Chilcott, James Litton, Axel Theimer, Walter Turnbull, and others. Collaborations with touring choirs from England, Australia, Spain, Canada, and throughout the U.S. are also a regular feature of the OFC experience.

Fiero welcomes new members in September and January.
