Training Choirs

Prelude: (Ages 6-9)

For beginning singers in grades 1-3. Weekly rehearsals focus on
     building a love of singing,
     voice exploration,
     basic solfege and note reading,
     developing a flexible, healthy, beautiful sound
     fun, engaging repertoire – mostly unison
     community building

Prelude performs in OFC’s holiday and spring concerts, at area retirement communities and at area schools during a spring day-tour.

Intermezzo: (Ages 9-12)

For advancing singers in grades 4-6. In addition to the rehearsal objectives for Prelude listed above, the singers of Intermezzo focus on
     Advanced rehearsal skills
     Voice building
     Purity of sound
     Vowel uniformity
     Sight singing skills
     Unison and 2-part repertoire
     Performance skills

Intermezzo performs in OFC’s holiday and spring concerts, at area retirement communities and at area schools during a spring overnight tour.  In addition, the choir has opportunities to sing for civic groups. Individual members are eligible to audition for special performances with the Touring Choirs.
